Comprised of young and seasoned professionals in the fields of education, healthcare, the arts, civics and business, the Westchester Alumnae chapter is known for its commitment and dedication. Serving the distinguished Westchester community for over 36 years, our service efforts often extend past those boundaries. Using the classic success formula that includes networking and partnerships, the ladies of Delta Nu Sigma evolve with change, identify needs and take action to promote a viable resolution.

Through our signature program, Project Reassurance, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority focuses on Healthy Choices, Healthy Living and Healthy Generations.  Project Reassurance consists of three modules that encompass four touch points: Physical Health, Mental Health, Safe Communities, and Protecting the Future.  Using this as a foundation, Delta Nu Sigma has provided programming and resources to local programs and charity events including:

  • Operation Big Book Bag – donation of school supplies to at-risk children

  • Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk / Avon Breast Cancer Walk

  • Story Hour at the Mt. Vernon Public Library – promoting literacy

  • Youth Symposium – series of workshops targeted to youth

  • Sacred Heart Food Pantry

  • Angel Projects – Doles Community Center and the Association of Community Based Artists of Westchester

  • Clothing Drives – WestHELP of Mt. Vernon

  • Voter Registration

  • Annual Health Fair
Our supportive membership prides itself on a family format that puts sisterhood first in order to honor the generous work that Sigma requires.  In doing so, we will continue creating lasting relationships, providing mentoring and developing leaders for Greater Service and Greater Progress.
